I clicked "deposit" into surge and the ATOM went to ANOTHER Kava address that isn't mine and has my ATOM plus a bag of KAVA and BUSD. The Kava and BUSD are not mine. No idea how using the exact KAVA Surge deposit mechanism would re-route my funds to someone else's address. But this is VERY concerning

Have you checked the kava address in the mask before clicking on deposit?

yes- it was the address given by KAVA deposit fx under ATOM-SURGE when I sent via IBC using the exact pathway I've used previously numerous times on KAVA for this exact transaction process. It appears to be rerouted to someone else's address thru Kava itself that isn't associated with their program and I am not getting much help here.

Anyone else trying to deposit Atom and having this issue?

Have any of the admins (cameron) given any kind of response to your issue?

Cameron has been helping, but he is saying that the re routing of the deposits to another wallet that is not a Kava dev/team routing wallet. I have screen shots and hash # for all of it. VERY troubling.

Ok but did you check it? If yes, and if it was correct, then you have to wait for Cameron's reply

A bit difficult to understand what’s going on here. Can you compile a single post with the problem? I tried checking your messages one by one, but a bit confusing. What did you start with? What did you end with? What’s that you are seeing? What’s the problem. I see you are logged in some wallet but you say it’s not yours or I am missing something

I don’t get what he means. He is logged into the wallet he received funds to 🤷‍♂️

Went through Kava.io—> connect to keplr wallet (ledger app is integrated with KAVA b/w of COSMOS app) Evan (NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE-I won't DM you First), [5/13/2022 2:48 PM] then—> ATOM SRUGE—> deposit and that screen popped up after deposit showing those assets. That is NOT my actual wallet address

Which wallet are you logged in? On the screenshot you are logged to some account that has the funds

To me, it looks like he logged in with his Ledger wallet directly

that is NOT my wallet- that is the wallet that connected when I connected wallet to kava. My actual wallet is different. The ATOM wallet is correct, but the KAVA wallet it went to is not mine

Do you have any other wallets in Kepler? Except ledger

Either directly or through keplr with ledger the address is the same. The path can give different addresses, but I doubt he did something with the path

yes, one other on Chrome, but no assets are in it besides a tiny amount of SWP and HARD

So you are saying the wallet you are logged in right now was never used by you? All that kava on the account is not yours either?

correct. The Atom is mine. The BUSD and KACA are not

So what happens when you initiate tx? Can you log again in incognito mode tab? Which address will be there?

I can bring this up to the engineering team next week. Maybe they will have a good idea.

Technically it could be possible to replace the address with some malware. But it’s too complicated. The address is picked from your pc. Not from kava app

thank you. It allowed me to deposit and sign tx thru ledger to a wallet not connected to ledger but I cannot withdraw it at all. Never seen something like this

possibly- but this is a new laptop and has only connected with osmosis, keplr, kava, brave, chrome and gmail

I am on brave browser not chrome. incog is default setting on this system

I restarted the system and re-logged in and when I connected that new address popped up and I see my atom It is connected to a ledger, but it is not mine. I cannot send or swap any tokens. The concerning thing is I was able to sign the TX via ledger and deposit to that address but not withdraw or swap

And it's full access you are getting not just watch mode (although not sure if that's possible with the Kava Web Appp) so probably jusy ignore that thought

I am checking this wallet: Look at the 57 kava tx. The sender wallet was using the ledger app, doing swaps, staking with standard tx fee and then he all of a sudden sends 57 kava with 0.00008 fee instead of the usual 0.001
