The pool is a Curve v2 pool so it works slightly differently than a 50-50 balanced Curve stableswap pool. The price and ratios should get properly arb'd with bots over time to the redeem function of FPI which keeps the peg steady.

Thanks Sam! Really loved your recent panel appearance btw! Great job at explaining frax in an accessible way and also enjoyed the good vibes and understanding with the maker team member. How to differentiate between v1 and v2 curve pool and what are the implications? Is fxs/cvxfxs v1 or v2?

Curve v2 pools are for volatile non-pegged assets. While FPI is a stablecoin, it's peg is different than FRAX (or any dollar pegged stablecoin) so it cannot have a Curve pool where all the liquidity is at a 1 to 1 exchange rate since FPI will not be equal or close to $1 necessarily. You can look at the Curve pool's stats to see if it is a stableswap pool or v2 volatile pool by seeing if it has gamma and other stats on the bottom.
