Is there still a plan for node operators to set

their own fees? Since they aren't rewarded anymore with the fees (since it has been replaced with a spot in treasury), would that still make sense?

The ability in the node software is there to set our own fees as you know in fullnode.properties file but we are all told to keep them the same for now. What I assumed was that one day this will be the approach and nodes will compete to process transactions and I just thought I wonder if giving the holder the ability to see all the transactions they processed was a way of showing why they have earnt X in fees.....

But what would be the advantage of setting different fees on nodes? All the fees stream back to the treasury anyway, so it doesn't matter if 1 node performs better then the other one right now, right? Or unless the node operators will also earn a part of the fees in the future, then that would indeed bring on competition between node operators to "fight" for more transactions

Could it be similar to payment terms. Longer to transact means a cheaper fee. A way of prioritising transactions and incentive like gas fees.

I don't believe it would be gas fee like that. I just think they are probably putting their decentralised plans in motion potentially soon and the announcement in the video was the first hint possibly but it was a little vague.
