wanted to post it here too.
I am a developer and I have submitted a grant application to develop on the CASPER environment.
I didn't see that to pass the validation we have to pay 100 euro "fee" to continue the procedure, without having the certainty that our grant will be accepted.
I have worked for several blockchain and participate in many Grants, this is the first time I have to pay to propose an idea. Clearly I do not want to pay 100 euro for nothing, without having any guarantee and I must not be the only one. I think it's a shame because many other developers must be in my case. And in my opinion this does not help the development of CASPER. I don't know if you already had some feedbacks similar to mine about the grant system ?
Thanks for the feedback Charlie.
There may be a pro and con to this - with zero application fees they may get inundated with half baked ideas!
Sure I agree, but for the moment blockchains need developers more than the other way around. Blockchains normally have funds allocated for this, it is not up to the developers to pay for it.
Why would a developer pay for that indeed? Thats sounds weird
