The Casper chain and the Casper network might seem empty, but it works like clockwork. No downtime, no problems, no issues. How many times did Solana network collapse, 4-5 network outages in total? We have great tech on our side. We have to be patient.
I know we're still in a bear market, sol has downtime, but has over 2x in the last month
Yeah hype, we're missing hype but I believe we will have it in the future. What good is Solana good for? If the targeted enterprises work with Casper, we won't even need hype.
Solana is also good. And they have a huge community plus the hype. Best thing is not compare to any other projects imo
FYI: Casper also had multiple downtimes since Mainnet launch, I think 3 in total. 2 here (use the navigation on the right): https://github.com/casper-network/casper-node/wiki/Postmortem 1 here: https://github.com/casper-network/casper-node/discussions/4341 And don't forget the still dropped rewards for the whole network since 2 months or so -> I don't remember when it was discovered exactly
The drop in rewards is not so high now and it will get fixed in the next upgrade. I'm not worried about rewards. The rewards stopped for 2 eras I think, not longer than that and then they resumed.
Not noticeably though
Let's compare rewards: cspr.live: 10.97% APY casperstats.io: 10.35% APY difference: 0.62% So since a few weeks and maybe months there are indeed less rewards than it should be. Sure it will get fixed and is worked on but saying there are no issues and everything is working is just wrong.
Its good to hear the good and the bad ,not hide the imperfections.👏
Absolutely. Full disclosure and transparency and everyone can and should decide on their own what they want to do with that information 😊
Yeah I'm not happy about the decrease in rewards, but it's miniscule and as you say will get fixed. Not worried about it. Of course we can criticize as long as it's constructive criticism. We should be supportive of our team.
Only facts from my side to get a better overall picture, not critics this time 😉
Which one is correct?
Both are correct - it depends what you want to show. cspr.live shows the maximum APY possible if everything is working as expected - casperstats.io shows which was really achieved. So it's like 9 (casperstats.io) out of 10 (cspr.live) points achieved.
Do we have the calculation disclosed somewhere for casperstats.io? Is it really APY and not APR?
For transparency, all sites should show both and clarify if APY or APR. Both sites are great tools for the community, thank you to the Devs!
You got me 😉 According to status.py APR is 10.14% Do you have the formulas at hand than I'll hack something together to compare values 😊
APR is simple. (per-era-total-rewards*12*365)/total-amount-staked*100 Once you have the APR, you can calculate APY with (1 + APR/(365*12))^(365*12) – 1 You can google for details. :)
A bit picky but leap years are ignored I guess?
