Coinjoin often can be beaten by chain analysis. Cash Fusion is better that way. Both are things users can do that are outside of the protocol and as long as they happen sort of in a decentralized way they are currently (!) not a reason for governments to give exchanges a hard time. Baking something like mimblewimble into the protocol obviously does. For both there is a high chance that going forward exchanges will prohibit the use of such privacy options and will block all coins for which such options are baked in. In eCash there is an external option (cash fusion) in electrumABC At some point it would probably be good if ABC team put some distance between themselves and that wallet. Especially if and when cash fusion is going to be promoted more. Just to avoid triggering reactions from governments or just overzealous exchanges.
