I think it touches on things like how often a block takes an hour along with the issues with shorter blocks...
That makes sense to me! (surprisingly lol). But I thought the weight for bch difficulty adjustment was less than 2016/ 2 weeks?
BTC was always 2 weeks, still is AFAIK. That's why everybody speculated about a death spiral every bear market when miners shut off and block times get consistently long. BCH is basically adjusted every block now, using something like a rolling average, I think.
Yeah, adjusted every block, based on last 144 blocks, I'm pretty sure. Much more robust than btc's. I didn't check the date of that article til after I asked. I am slightly confused though... That is describing a proposal to adjust rewards and frequency, not describing how btc is now, right?
not last 144, goes back "forever" ( == to ASERT anchor in nov 2020)
Oh... isn't there a 144 block rolling window for the DAA? Or is that what was scrapped in the last fork?
that was scrapped because it has internal oscillations
It was just a discussion, no action was taken.
Ok, that's what I thought, just making sure. Thx for sharing! Seems like it would solve the 8/32 bus 'problem'.
