"Hijacking Bitcoin," I realized the importance of getting this information to people in their native language, especially here in Africa. The idea to translate the book struck me as the best way to make this crucial knowledge accessible.
Translating a book is a complex task, requiring expertise, time, and resources. However, my biggest hurdle was figuring out how to contact Roger and secure his permission.
After a week of brainstorming, I reached out to someone in the Bitcoin Cash community. They suggested contacting "steveinpursuit" on Twitter but offered to ask Roger directly at Bliss.cash if I wasn't successful.
On April 23rd, I decided to take a chance and message Roger directly on Telegram. To my surprise, he responded! Here's the conversation:
Me: "Thank you for publishing this excellent book. People worldwide need it, especially in Africa. We'd like to request your permission to translate it into Hausa, reaching over 80 million people and informing them about Bitcoin's true story and hijacking.
I'm Munnir, founder of TechHausa, a tech media platform providing tech news in Hausa. Currently, I create videos and blog posts to educate people about Bitcoin Cash in Hausa. You can find our content on our TikTok page https://www.tiktok.com/@bitcoinhausa?_t=8mBGVnBDQ74&_r=1 and blog bch.techhausa.com.Our Twitter handles are @bchhausa and @munnirjmt personal.
I'm considering translating "Hijacking Bitcoin" into Hausa and distributing it to libraries and institutions for wider reach. Additionally, the translation will be part of a Flipstarter campaign for our upcoming project next month. However, I need your approval before proceeding."
Roger Ver: "Thank you so much. You have my full permission to translate it and distribute it."
His prompt reply filled me with joy, knowing millions would have access to this valuable book after translation.
Unfortunately, a week later, news broke about Roger Ver's arrest. While the reason remains unclear, it coincides with his efforts to expose the truth about Bitcoin's hijacking.
Despite this setback, our mission to translate the book continues. People deserve the right to know the truth. To achieve this and more, we launched a Flipstarter campaign aimed at educating and onboarding Hausa-speaking countries to Bitcoin Cash.
