Hi all. Can anyone confirm the total supply for Casper?

I see that some articles have it at 10 billion well coin gecko and coin market cap have a 10.95 which is a huge discrepancy

Hi Raymond. CSPR is an inflationary token with 8% inflation per year, used to rewards validators for securing the network. Genesis was 10b tokens. So total supply is 10b plus the yearly inflation.

Gotcha. So does that mean that every year the circulating supply increases 8%? If it’a 10Bn from genesis + 8%inflation = 10.9bn current max supply. So next year would equate to roughly 11.8Bn?

Yes CSPR is inflationary. The inflation is used only to reward validators and delegators for securing the network.

Hey Raymond, Validators are rewarded with the inflation. Most, if not nearly all validators are accumulating for the long term.
