slope couldn't happen with coinomi right? Based on my reading it seems coinomi is way more careful with their security but damn...I hate how they're closed source
Don't know anything about slope but coinomi does not have access to your funds. *edit looks like slope was backing up the seed phrases on there server. Either as an intentional scam or because they let an employee add malicious code without checking. Technically any software wallet could have this issue. Coinomi specifically would only be vulnerable to such malicious code when you create a wallet, recover a wallet or send funds no other time would it be even possible.
When you say coinomi would be vulnerable to this when you create a wallet, why is this? It was my understanding that your key phrase is only on your device
I will guess that he's referring to the seed phrase potentially being captured and sent somewhere, at a time when the seed phrase is being processed (is available to steal) on one's computer. The wallet app itself can be malicious if it is allowed in by careless management by the wallet developers.
Gotcha. That's still terrifying to think about
It's pretty unlikely as it requires incompetence from the wallet maker. Also thankfully with coinomi design as long as you set a password there are very few times malicious code could even work.
