I had 100 hex and I staked them giving a return of 50% apy, I would have 150 hex? If the hex price was $1 at the time of the stake but the price at the end of the stake was $2 I would have a cash value of $300. Simplistic I know, but is that correct?
Yeah that is correct. If you're planning on staking and want a ballpark on your possible returns...go to Hexcalc.net
Thank you, I thought it was but I just wanted to make sure, glad I bought more than, and staked all my hex then
APY is annualized, so your example would only be valid for a 1 year stake (which doesn't give 50% APY though). As for market value, that is only relevant for when you buy and when you sell. Staking and endstaking has no relevance to it.
Thanks, I was trying to work it out idiot proof so I could understand it, I staked the full term, more of an investment than anything else
That guesstimation website uses a static model, so it is only useful for short stakes. Stakehex.today is a much better modeling tool.
