While I understand what you're saying, I'm hoping to convince local merchants to accept them as currency based on the gold that they are tangibly backed by, which ultimately, in my opinion, negates the need for better art.

In the states that have em you can go to the ace hardware and use em to buy shit and they (the ace hardware) bases it off of the current spot price of gold. At least that is what the official information videos I've watched have claimed

Yes and you can’t acquire them at spot

There's an "official" calculator. I'm not certain if it is based purely on spot, but I believe it fluctuates the calculation based on spot.

They should not be valuing them at spot imho because physical price is always higher than the phoney paper/stock market price
