Covid made it hard to ship hardware and we didn’t have GPUs to support a supermini. Things are started to look good for something like a supermini now things have imporved. https://akash.network/blog/supermini-update/

Hard to say, GPUs landscape is changing every 18 months, means this device becomes obsolte in 2 years. The Akash core team is focused on the software side of the roadmap unless we see a compelling need for a home based hardware device.
