The validator nodes are ran on Ethereum, so if you want to delegate your tokens to a validator you need to do that on Ethereum and you need Matic on Ethereum, here's a guide: https://docs.polygon.technology/docs/faq/staking-faq/#how-to-stake-tokens-on-polygon There are other options to stake directly on Polygon if you wanna do that, I would suggest looking into liquid staking, here's a guide: https://polygon.technology/blog/defiforall-introduction-to-liquid-staking-on-polygon
