core team, said that the problem with the 21 billion coins limit can be solved in different ways. And one of the ways is raising that limit if gzil holders vote to do so.
Is that technically possible with zil?
I don't remember such discussion. If you can link me to that discussion I may take a look & dig deeper.
I'm glad to see people like you who joined earlier are still here ❤️
It would be quite hard, probably one his long ago AMAs on Twitter where he just dropped it for 10-15 seconds. I will try finding it
No worries, up to you if you want to look for it. Anyway to answer your question, Since team is working on tokenomics & Zilliqa 2.0 , we can not speculate at the moment on what is going to happen once max supply is in circulation. Whether max supply will be increased by a gzil vote or not or whether Txn fee will be enough to continue staking rewards. These is a sensitive topic so we look up to experts in Core team to work out a plan which will allow continuous staking rewards & will also help validators (SSNs) to keep network secure (given once POW is dropped & POS is opted).
So it is technically possible, right? Raising the cap? If yes, that will be at least some sort of solving the problem if we have it.
Technically it should be possible with a gzil vote.
