How does multi algo work? Do miners on 4 of

the algos sit idle for a minute while they are waiting for their next turn, or do all algos try to solve all blocks, and the difficulty adjustment ensures an even distribution amongst algos?

No they all compete. Dificulty just adjusts to average each one wins the same number.

Yes it is. But POW by its nature is.

80% of each miners work is guaranteed waste. At least on single algo you have a "chance* of solving every block. Do you know if miners can be configured to only compete for every fifth block, which they know they have a chance of solving, surely that would be hugely more efficient.

Miners can and do win consecutive blocks. You could always not compete for blocks with high difficulty

Would love to see that but there doesn't seem to be any buy in from others and there isn't really anyone left to make the changes. I am learning c++ so I could possibly do if there was funding but DigiAsset Core is proving hard to fund let alone that.

Ya DigiAsset Core is a much higher priority in my opinion for the immediate future anyways

"There isn't really anyone left to make the changes". And people called me crazy for thinking this is a stagnant project. 🙃 It's been the sad reality for years and y'all refused (some still do) to admit it.

Oh I am doing lots and others like @RenzoDD also. But I am not one of the ones working on the core wallet.
