that it seems a little out of hand now. Borderline obsessive behaviour if I’m honest and the fud angle I genuinely don’t understand since there’s nothing to actually fud.. Especially the aspect of trying to get the akash community riled up against rndr, even tho the two projects are fundamentally, technically, and developmentally different. It also seems to me that Greg is desperate to have the tagline “rndr is on akash” or something similar, which would have a positive affect for akash rather than for rndr.
Also, with the recent fud of ‘what are they trying to hide’ - it seems like Greg is trying to insinuate sinister motives from the literal industry leader in GPU rendering… the guy who literally features I’ll in Apple keynotes and Nvidia GTCs… very strange behaviour.
Almost as if Greg wants the code to literally copy rndr or something?.. starting to sound very desperate… def not a good look.
Closed companies with Tokens like FTX and Celsius — now seemingly Render — are the biggest threat to our industry. Decentralized protocols NEED to be open-source; there is no place for closed-source companies in Crypto. This openness fosters the trust and community engagement necessary for a decentralized network to function effectively. If the code is closed-source, it's hard for others to verify its security and fairness, which are crucial for any protocol, especially decentralized ones. One of the main points of decentralization is to avoid the need to trust a central authority. If the source code is closed, you are effectively trusting the organization or person who wrote and maintains the code. If we don't self-regulate, we'll be regulated by outsiders who don't understand us, which is happening now.
we like the open-source nature of akash.. that’s part of why we’re here and invested in the product you’re building but it’s not up to you, or any of us in here, to decide whether or not rndr (or any other project) code is open-source.. we can discuss it constructively, the pros and cons.. but saying things on twitter like “what are they hiding?” is not constructive or professional.. bashing on another project is a very bad look, especially from a team/founder if you (general) are not ok with the open/closed nature of a projects code.. then don’t invest in it.. that’s it now please.. let’s bury the hatchet, make amends, and move forward in a more positive and constructive manner
So open source is for everyone, but if you don't want to show your decentralised ecosystem..then it's decentralised, but in a centralised way
decentralization is a bit of a fugazi as well.. most project teams control a majority of tokens in a network, which is basically still centralized governance.. or worse, whoever has the most money can just buy up majority governance power
This 💯 Good luck to you guys 🤝
This... Totally agree with Greg here. Render is an overhyped, centralized, closed project. If you have to trust the company, it's against the ethos of web3.
An hour ago you were preaching that you're a RNDR token holder, and now you're sowing division between two otherwise peaceful communities 🤦 Your comparison of Render to FTX and Celsius is uncalled for. These two companies gambled billions of customer deposits, what they did is criminal. If you're laying awake at night worrying that Render is the greatest threat to crypto then I don't know what to say. I like Akash, and the tech you build. But I condone this tactic of tribalism and division.
I sold all my RNDR when I dug deeper to realize I could not run a node or see the source code. Your opinion is noted.
You know cudos had a partnership with RNDR once upon a time but that deal fell through. No idea what the reasoning behind it was maybe you two have common ground 🤣
Render node is windows only and OTOY have to approve you to run. May be because CUDOS cannot support windows.
Tbh, I'm not sure either - I was not aware of a partnership. I would recommend asking in Cudos telegram.
Ok. Well you seemed to suggest that you were a holder a few hours ago, to me this just puts your whole act into question: - "What are they hiding" - "You don’t want me there asking questions." - "Attack starts" - "More attacks" - "relentless attacks on me." - "They have a cult-like toxic community", - "Their strategy is Attack, Deflect, and Attack." - "Makes sense when this is your average $RNDR holder" (proceeds to belittle someone who is not a native english speaker. Adding node operators is paused til the migration to the Burn and Mint equlibrium token economic model is done. This is the layer that incentivises artists and node operators based on supply/demand. The aim is for a self-regulating network, until this is ready it was decided to put a cap on the node supply.
I applied to be a node operator in Feb, and when no one bothered to reply and I didn't get the answers, I went public.
There's a big demand for RNDR nodes because they own the market share , one should wait in line as everyone else
I reached out to Jules privately too — he didn’t care
Yeah your 10 Apr msg says it all as a founder Good on you Greg. Ignore the noise fren
The interest form states that onboarding is currently paused. I'm not sure how this could be made more clear.
Hodlers won't care they just want their bags to pump they don't care about how it happens. I had a conversation today and my trading group told me not to say anything about another project as the truth will dump the price lol. They know the truth but spreading the truth hurts them so they'll attack the truth for the sake of protecting their own investment
I also reached out to Jules to settle the non productive community conversations about AKT and Render on Apr 10th -- he didn't care
Greg, I have to say I’m glad I encouraged you to ask your questions in the render tg. It’s helped show your true colours and intentions. I’m personally 100% behind the idea of decentralisation and it is absolutely the way forward in a web3 world. It is disappointing you are unable to see the vision Jules has - either by watching any of his Nvidia GTC talks from 2013 onward (2013 he launched the predecessor to RNDR alongside Jensen btw) or seeing his input at the two previous Apple Keynotes. Or how Jules helping establish the ITMF open spec helps propel the decentralised vision forward. You’ll also be aware that Jules and the team have a very collaborative ethos - and it’s likely that patience would have been your friend, however your apparent desperation to run a RNDR node and inspect the SDK - and subsequent FUD/attacks on RNDR when unable to access either speaks volumes. I wish good luck to all compute platforms like Akash and the many others, because in the end only a few will stand the test of time. Many are out of testnet and in the real world with more than just a handful of GPUs. Hopefully Akash will be one to survive perhaps. Time certainly will tell.
Nor do you by the sound of it 😂 But I think it's a bit harsh to say Jules doesn't care. He just choses to not make himself available to everyone via DM. Render Network has had A100 GPU nodes since Aug 2020, and has plenty of solicitations from big GPU farms wanting to join. The Burn and Mint equilibrium token economics model is a key network upgrade that will enable self-regulation on the supply front.
Is there any where I can see what GPUs Render has?
so demand is high..but supply is intentionally limited....what does that tell u? lloool
