I think you have some misunderstanding like many others so this is very common: Your CSPR/Stake is on the network and 100% independent from the software/hardware you're using to interact with the blockchain. So you don't have to do anything until you want to access your CSPR to sell or transfer them. Than you need a tool like a wallet, Ledger or whatever is available to interact with the blockchain. So most important is: Have a backup of your private key so you can import it in other tools, be it Casper Wallet or whatever. There is even an official command line tool which can be used to stake and unstake BUT you also need your private key for this.

You won't lose them as long as you export your private key and either keep or import them into Casper Wallet.
