estate. If someone say, doesn't pay property taxes and the government is forced to sieze it, they will ignore blockchain deeds they cannot alter. they will simply rely on their traditional system. The only way I see regulations getting passed to allow this is if they have full control of it.. so how would that be any different?
2. Private data access. Medical records, etc.. once you give someone access to any data, there is nothing stopping them from copying and selling/redistributing it.
3. Voting. Votes are private to prevent intimidation and retaliation. Imagine going back to a time when you could lose your job for voting differently than management at work.
And these are just the first, most obvious issues off the top of my head.
Can anybody provide any serious justification of how these use case claims can actually work in the real world?
No, Jareds just been pushing these fake use cases as there's quite literally nothing else to push. Over nearly 7yrs I've seen these fake use cases promoted, yet to this day not a single tangible product. Just squeezing blood from stone in the face of zero development.
No these are all horible use cases. Voting can be done but not for political things for the reasons you mentioned.
There are many use case just not these. A few real use cases(same as btc) 1) international trade 2) trust less storage of funds A few real use cases for DigiAssets 1) event tickets. They can be used like any ticket to gain entry. They can be sold if you can't go to someone else. Unlike paper tickets the buyer can be assured they are real and the purchase of the DigiAsset and the payment for them can be made in 1 transaction allowing for neither party to cheat the other. 2) easy storage of memorable tokens. 3) voting on things that complete anonymity(pseudo anonymity still available) is not important. 4) proof of authenticity(can be used to provide a second layer of proof a physical object is legitimate. May not be practicle but in theory is possible)
what fake use cases? and zero develoment?? all LIES from you bro
I don't see how you can possibly authenticate physical objects, even in theory.
Ok, so tell us how any of the 3 I mentioned are possible
He is right the ones Jared mention all the time are bad examples.
The asset would need to contained detailed identification data about the physical object and the physical object would need to contain the asset id. Basically a signed digital proof of authenticity document. So the object should be assumed a forgery if the asset is not held and object description does not match exactly.
Forgary aside, a damaged object is still the same object.
May not be worth anything. Passports was the one use case I was asked about. Personally just a qr code with digital signature and a good quality photo would probably be good enough
"Good enough" is no better than the current standard
pasport or something to do with indentification would be ideal for DGB real world use case. As far as the things mentioned above i'm no expert on these topics BUT I don't think they are impossible or "fake" perhaps just things that could be implemented in the future. Right now i think the focus of the community shouldn't be on what jared says wrong but what the ecosystem is trying to do right. Help test v8.22 or donate to renzo for the desktop wallet fund. Digicorplabs has promised layer 2 and contracts for DGB. There are use cases for DGB but they won't be used unless we get adoption of the token first which comes from users already in crypto jumping over due to development.
Thoughts @dgb_ycagel ?
You don't need to be an expert to use simple logic
It could be done better than today without using assets. Then again modern passports are actually pretty secure. It's pretty difficulty to make very secure when many people have access to the system to make legits.
How many active contributing developers in the dgb ecosystem? One simply needs to go to github to proof tNearly 4.5yrs since last protocol upgrade with no signs of 8.22 being ready for full production release this year. On the contrary, these are not lies, but facts. I'm not here to go down the rabbit hole, done it for over 6yrs and watched things get to where we are. I've had my say. Thanks.
There is lots on private repository like github.com/digiassetX mctrivia and renzo(not sure off hand repo name)
