QNT bought by retail investors vs those purchased by/for institutions for licences ? Just like a ratio or something?
Been asking for this since 2019. The reason I’ve asked for this is because I’ve always found it highly problematic that software license -and subsequent QNT escrow - could be interdependent with retail speculators impact on QNT token price. The uneducated always responded with ‘license fees are paid in fiat and converted to QNT!’ which does not address my point at all when you think about license period rollover
Thank you for your reply. You've raised some valid and thought-provoking points. It would be is ideal to understand how much of the price is currently 'utility vs speculation'. I never understood why some of these telegram groups are dismissive of rational criticism and conversation.
Not likely to happen. Once utility is fully transparent then investment wouldn't be speculation anymore
When will that be?
Arguably never but a dashboard might happen
Let me try and break this down. Without the qnt token Overledger doesn't work. Banks, governments, companies don't want to hold crypto assets on their balance sheets. They want to denominate in fiat. The treasury handles the backend payment for these "entities". If you want trustless, cryptographic interoperability you need the token for signing the transactions. Once gateways, as stated many times, are live, everyone can participate in providing network security. Now let's have a discussion of what you don't understand here.
I think the confusion comes from that: is ovl a blockchain requering a token to pay for transactions? By design, you can't use a blockchain without the gas token.
