Satoshi wrote on the whitepaper that the decision to do

10 minutes blocks were because of the memory space

If you could show to Satoshi at the time that there would be no issue issuing blocks every 2.5 mins instead wouldn't he have done it ??

10 minutes was pretty conservative which is okay for a proof of concept but inevitably 10 minutes of AVERAGE (meaning sometimes blocks take way longer) is too long to wait for a peer to peer cash

And Litecoin isn't perfect either Maybe that we could have reduced block time to 30 seconds and still make things work out for example But regardless 2.5 mins is better than 10 minutes even with added memory Even if the 4x faster meant a 4x bigger blockchain Litecoin would only be 2TB which at current storage prices is still reasonable for hobbyists who run full nodes

The only argument that BTC maxis have for themselves is that they're the first Yeah sure That's about it On pretty much every other aspects Bitcoin could have been way better from the start. Which is okay because satoshi was smart but not a time traveler and things were not meant to be perfect on first try

i already told you, my node would not be able to have that amount of storage. i need more expensive hardware

Having a short blocktime can increase the chance of 2 blocks with the same blockheight and then the longest chain wins, orphaning the other chain
