the record, creating a 'Request payment' here creates a new wallet, right? And when I use 'Encrypt wallet', what wallet am I encrypting or is that just my DigiByte Core installation? I recall there being a wallet.dat file I could use to backup in the past should my computer ever get rekt and I'd need to re-access my wallets. Is that no longer there and is that passphrase sufficient for that nowadays?
Core wallet has a wallet.dat that you must back up after creating, manually importing private keys and/or after encrypting. Encrypting creates a new encrypted key store which funds get moved to over time. Passphrase is just a password and is needed to open the encrypted keystore it is not useful on its own as a backup.
