They feel like any other coin is threatening the value of Bitcoin. They see crypto as a zero sum game where any dollar going into another coin is a dollar which is "removed" from BTC

Even funnier is the weird attachment to satoshi who literally left the project, and yet trying to defend every decision on the basis of what 'satoshi would have wanted' (even if it made sense to proceed this way, how could a Satoshi from 2007 have predicted current state of affairs ?) while at the same time most of the codebase has nothing to do with the 'original' one anymore (it is normal for software to evolve) I think maxis are in some kind of a bipolar thought system where they can only justify Bitcoin's apparent superiority by how 'pure' it is, so they need to have a strong attachment to not change things otherwise it would 'corrupt' it (see ordinals drama) while also wanting to forbid anyone else from making innovations outside of Bitcoin because that would be a betrayal to the valuation of Bitcoin and participating in scams (because all alts are automatically shitcoins whose only goal is to scam everyone).
