No, jacks node only ever ran for short amount of time in 2022.
Sooo not running then
Never really started, was active for a few weeks. But maybe you can ask @Sjaaaakster himself, but has nothing to do with Baseledger or Unibright teams thoughts around Baseledger as far as I'm aware.
Not sure if thats better or worse. But hes not the only one, many nodes have stopped running and more looking to shut down
That is node operators choice what they choose to do, just like when they chose to setup their nodes.
Of course it is but its a sign of a strugling network. When these node operators raise these concerns with the team and council members its met with silence. No dialogue at all around the concerns. No attempt to try and fix these issues, no attempt to try keen nodes running just nothing which is a huge red flag, like baseledger is just been left
That's not my understanding of what happens, some node operators have high server costs and financial costs so choose to shutdown or run one node instead of two.
Lol yes all nodes are running at a loss we had over 20 nodes at one point and now down to 11 with another 2 saying they will shut down if things dont improve fast. My concerns are less around the nodes and more about the radio silence from unibright and council. There are many ways and ideas to address these issues but no interaction with node operators is happening
Perhaps the ideas were not suitable or possible to implement in the way they asked. I know some node operators signed up for servers that cost $100+ per month, while others paid much less.
Baseledger was envisioned when the Cona deal was happening It couldn’t move forward - because a partner couldn’t deliver on their promises UniBright still launched Baseledger & it’s been successful technically There hasn’t been demand - as a stand alone solution UniBright have launched UB1 & as you know UB-1v2 is due this quarter UBC - is now a much bigger product & is being used Industrious have been clear about their commitment to promoting it - We are expecting much more information this quarter on how UBC will hook users into embracing BaseLedger This is actually where we are at - imho
How is UBC beneficial to ubt can anyone explain how the tokenomics work with UBC
Sorry FT - I thought you were up to speed on the current product offerings & where we are on the roadmap … Unfortunately it’s long after midnight here - I’m just about to catch some Zzzz’s I’d suggest you read through UBC dot Services website it’s extremely detailed - UB one for example is very interesting to read it’s listed under out of the box solutions S1seven info isn’t available, yet As are some others
Oh i know, just dont think anyone else dose
You do ? Then why are you upset that some node operators have closed - One guy actually ran 2 - clearly his greed got ahead of the adoption curve Personally I’m surprised so many kept going last year … It’s an easy thing to spin up once TXs become viable
The less nodes, the less decentralized, the less attractive to clients, the less revenue, the less nodes... Etc. that's called a death spiral in the insurance world
Pay licence fee in UBT.
In the Business world too - a death spiral is a common term A reduction in node operators today isn’t a big deal - they’re not getting enough TXs to make them viable - the Team could have subsidised them if they wanted to - clearly the Teams focus was on development of UB1-v2 & new UBC - last year … This year - we’ll find out if this was the best strategy
I'm sure many would spin up new nodes if the team asked. Have to think about the larger picture and what you can do, who cares about a few $ for running a node if that's the case. Peanuts
Does this licence fee get locked forever or can unibright just sell it? Is there any transparency around this?
Same as token model always has been, there is a blog about conUBC
Is there any transparency around this? How many tokens currently locked? We have been told before that all locked tokens would never be sold but then they sold all of them, millions of them! so why wouldnt they just do ot again?
They said at some point, can't remember when, that tokens would not be labeled or identifiable, as it was putting clients off as it was potentially revealing too much information about their activities
Yea that was like 3-4 years ago and they said the token lock updates will be more periodic rather then live updates. Yet we have not had even one update
If it makes you feel any better if they are indeed locked I agree with you that they should go into a contract where they cannot be removed or can easily see when they can be..I just assume anything not locked can be sold at any time..the problem here becomes what is legally allowed..burn mechanisms are heavily scrutenized by the SEC...Germany could have more strict guidelines or not be in place around locks, burns, etc..but if you can't lock them for some reason then it doesn't do anything for me as a selling point.
send em all to the red pill contract !! :')
Well that I can read and know they cannot be removed..a good example of the difference heh
Yes a contract like the redpill one would solve this but the problem is Its live so we can see all deposite which clients dont like, maybe a periodic deposite would solve this. Ether way the team wont read any of this or give any consideration to comunity concerns. Sorry that you get pulled into this altcoingamer, was hopping you would ignore this chat, hope your doing better
but the higher rewards for new node operators. the key is to start your node at the right time
Bro, Did we List our Coin in Gemfinder? its Getting more Traffic. Could be helpful for us.
