I wonder what you mean by 'getting closer'. When I run a marathon, the last kilometer feels like getting close and the last couple of hundred meters feels like very close and very soon I finish. From august 2023 I read here that IDEX is very close to launch. But 6 months further, we are still in the same position and IDEX is still very close. Thats why I don't know what you mean by 'getting closer' or when the teams says 'very soon'.

I do trust you on that. Nothing I say is personal. It's frustation I think of not knowing when something comes that I wait for so long

Yes, and I totally understand that! The guys have been working for a long time now, and it'll all come together once the last tidbits are finalized. We do value your input, and I personally think your opinion is valid. That said, it is still hard to estimate with a project this scale, and it is also understandable to have delays given technological and security issues especially with new things like the Polygon CDK.

This is actually a great analogy, because a marathon is a specific type of race with a specific distance, where as what we're doing is uknown in distance or difficulty. So it would be like getting close to the end of the marathon, but you get stuck in some quicksand (some thorny bug). Or you are coming up on the finish line but you decide actually if we finish on the other side of the city it will be nicer (adding scope for things like our custom L2).

How would that look like? It will be incremental in a sense that we launch public testnet which is followed up by mainnet launch.
