can't have a computer in hong kong and another in london running together right? Usually there geographical clusters in these kinds of networks
iexec doesn't run like a distributed super computer where each worker in a worker pool can communicate. A singular worker gets a task from the hub then sends the results back.
ah, so its more like "I can rent out this one dude's computing power to do some complex number crunching" rather than "I'm training a new LLM and need a distributed super computer"
could you give me an examle of the kind of tasks the computes complete?
In the Worker Pool Worker Pass phase 1 Workers were executing tasks for the Universe@home scientific research project. Put simply, Universe@Home does what’s known as “universe modeling” through astronomy simulations. Running these simulations is not possible in a laboratory due to a lack of computing power, so it is outsourced to a distributed network of computers. The iExec Workers were able to contribute to this project, helping scientists answer fundamental questions of the universe — from the birth of stars to identifying supernova explosions.
