Yes, it used to be about 22 percent Now it is 6.71 percent

The inflation turned to zero on January 1st this year, so 10 million tokens are distributed to stakers annually from the community pool with the Kava 15 upgrade. You can read more about the Kava 15 upgrade here.

As mentioned by Alex earlier, the inflation has been turned off. Instead, 10 million tokens are allocated from the community pool to be distributed to stakers annually, which reduced the staking APY from 20%+. No new tokens get created anymore.

The exact yield will depend on how many Kava tokens are staked in total Those 10m Kava rewards are shared between the 141m Staked Kava 10m / 141m = 0.07 The 10m Kava rewards could be changed in the future with a governance vote (although unlikely to change in the near future)

Another way to increase the APY is if a new governance proposal is passed, suggesting an increase in the distribution of tokens to stakers annually, from 10 million to 20 million or more. Again, this is also an unlikely scenario.

The community pool holds a large amount of Kava to fund staking rewards, platform incentives, etc This is where your staking rewards are being drawn from but at a lower rate than prior to 1st Jan
