Meaning if you’re an affiliate and you make a referral to a friend or family member, they use your link and make a transaction, you the affiliate gets a %.
Good/Bad and why?

IMO caution should be used. The precedent has been set in the US about influencers that use affiliate links. Everyone has to gage the risk/reward though
My personal thoughts on affiliate/referral programs, we all seen the issues that came out of Uphold never supporting withdrawals, economic ninja being an affiliate and how the community responded. I have always considered myself a volunteer and non-code contributor. The time and effort that I contribute is towards spreading awareness, helping others see DigiByte from a different (non-speculative) perspective and the intrinsic value I find from being a part of something that is much bigger than us is why I’m here. From a young adult age I learned to always do my best because that’s the right thing to do, without anticipation of something in return. Of course my main driving motivation has always been appreciation. I find self satisfaction in contributing. When we think of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, my basic survival needs are met, but that’s speaking for myself. I agree that being an affiliate requires caution in the content/endorsement shared. However, I also see it as an opportunity for someone interested in promoting an exchange/project to possibly earn a percentage of the transaction. I will read the article you shared and encourage everyone else in this discussion to do the same so that you understand the risks. I know it’s not for me but I also know that I don’t have the same financial needs other people do.
Bad in here because of spam. Go for it in the wild world
I get it, but I thought it was a good discussion topic and some good information came out about the risks of endorsing a service.
