When using komodo or verus wallets, where are coins existing?

Are they non-custodial wallets interacting with original blockchains or are the coins moved into a separate contract or chain/wallet that supports the dex... In other words, are my coins still as safe as my seed phrase when using these wallets. Or are they as safe as the wallet/dex?

I think so but maybe someone else can confirm

It's in your own wallet with your own seedphrase. It's a real DEX. DEX is future.

So say the wallet was having issues, could I use the seed phrase elsewhere to extract my balances to another wallet?

Komodo wallet is non custodial. Your fund are your responsibility. Komodo wallet is never in custody of assets, even during a swap. This is what makes atomic swaps incredible. p2p swaps from your wallet, to the other peers wallet. Komodo wallet has real atomic swaps, unlike most DEXs.

Yes. If you have your seed phrase, your funds are always safe. You can restore those addresses and balances on any pirate chain wallet.

It’s odd that Komodo desktop has a 24 word seed phrase and mobile has 12. Not sure how that would work. Also wondering about other assets. Most eth wallets still use 12 word seed phrases. Maybe a question for Komodo group though

I think that 24 word seed phrase restores all of your wallets on Komodo. I'm not sure though, I'd have to double check. They provide you with the private key for the individual pirate wallet.
