Treasure chest is full node. You verify every tx on your device. It's absolutely trustless, but requires processing and memory that is not convenient for some people. A light wallet is accessing the blockchain on a trusted 3rd parties server. So when you are using a lite wallet for any chain, you are trusting whoever is running that sever. It's important that any lite wallet you use is open source, and has been tested/audited by a decent amount of people. Every mobile wallet for any chain is a lite wallet. Phones do not have the memory to run a full node. The pirate lite wallet servers are ran by some trusted members of the team. It's open source and used by tens of thousands of people, so it's safe to use. No lite wallet will ever be completely trustless and secure as a full node, but it works just fine for most people.
