in a way so it will not receive, but reject incoming transactions and return to sender ?
I asked the same i moero, and monero cant do that.
i see it as a good privacy habit to toss old wallet (and its history) and make a brand new wallet
i don't think it's possible to stop someone from sending a tx to a wallet if they have the address, regardless of whether you've abandoned that address or not. If you delete a wallet and the private key/seed phrase, it effectively turns into a burn wallet. Those coins can never be accessed. This is the case on just about every blockchain. It is a very good practive to use fresh addresses often though. Treasure Chest supports many addresses to one wallet.
i also think its good to use new addresses yes. great functionality. but also good to create a brand new wallet with no history. it decreases the risk of someone ever gain acces could see your transaction history, which maybe could be used against you. I know - its paranoid - but... so I would appreciate some kind of close wallet forever functionality. if its totally empty. that would reject incoming payments and automatically return it to sender with message "account is closed, funds auto returned. transaction fee was automatically drawn" or maybe it could be auto transferred to another wallet address
Yes, creating a new wallet, with a new history is a good practice. Most peoples biggest security risk is themselves. If your keys or seed phrase are ever compromised, they could access your tx history. I'm not sure if it's possible, or feasible to add functionality that would delete an address and keep tx from ever going to it again. We'd have to ask forge or someone else that.
Come to one of our community calls on discord and bring it up. Every sunday at 1pm eastern.
can someone put it on a suggestion list on discord for me?
Well, just destroying the keys would make it impossible for the wallet to ever be opened again. You can't delete the transaction from the blockchain since they are already downloaded on thousands or millions of peoples devices. You can only view them with a viewing key, or private key. So just destroying those would make it impossible for anyone to ever access.
This is an interesting ask that I haven't heard before. My initial thought us to prevent the transaction from going thru in the first place, like a modular consensus rule the reject the transaction when submitted.
returning/rejecting tx could cost a tx fee
But you need to know where it came from to send that back, this is not exposed in Pirate.
well cant that be handled in the validation process, nnoting the sender address before its actually transferred, so its failed and never withdrawn, but a small fee is drawn from wallet with a message "fee for returning your transaction to dead wallet"
It's encrypted on the senders device, nobody outside the sender can see where transaction originate from
This is off topic but being a developer, what brought you to the pirate chain team instead of working with bigger projects with more developers?
