hand: 'Next week I’ll be back with a new set of items that we’re focused on as we move towards the public Testnet period and beyond'!? And those 'New set of items' will probably take another few weeks. And a after that, there are again new things to do. Annoying way of communication Alex. Sorry to say this.
Truly ! I'd be waiting every week , that surely - now we'll have an ETA. but nope , never. Something always keeps happening
Yes, something is always happening. It is the nature of this crypto environment since it is am ambience bring forth the ultimate and news technology into fruition. Just like ethereum is still evolving, this industry is about this.
Appreciate the feedback, here is our thought process, curious if you have any suggestions. As we've discusssed before we are looking at the rollout in phases: * Internal build/testing (basically done!) * Public testnet which is a) onboarding MMs and b) onboarding the rest of the public * Mainnet launch It's impossible to give a date for mainnet launch when we have all of these other phases still to go. And it was impossible months ago to give a date for onboarding MMs when we were still building the thing. So we commited to providing a list of items that we were working on, updating you every week, and letting you know the progress towards that first milestone (finishing the build/testing and onboarding MMs). Now that we're entering the second phase we'll do the same process, outline the things that need to be done and let you know how each of them are going. But again it's impossible to give you a date for mainnet when these other things are still to be done and have variable timelines (what if we find bugs in the public testnet period, or it takes MMs longer than expected to onboard, etc.).
I'm okay with an ETA for testnet also ! 🥲
March 20th: ‘Provided those tests pass we’ll then be ready to open it up to Market Makers! It’s too early to provide a date, but if all goes well we’ll begin onboarding some time next week.’ March 28th: ‘We’re working with Polygon to modify a few settings and configurations based on the results and expect to have everything dialed in shortly. After that we’ll let the MMs know it’s time to get started!’ April 3rd: ‘We still have a few more steps to go on configuring our staging environment, the off-chain components that connect to our testnet, after which we’ll perform our final round of performance tests using real trade settlements. We expect to wrap those up by early next week, and provided we don’t run into any surprises, we’ll open it up to our MM partners!’ April 11th: ‘With this milestone hit, we’ve started sharing the API docs and info with a few select MM partners in preparation for opening up the Testnet to a wide array of interested MMs and kicking off the first phase of our public Testnet rollout. As you can see below, we’ve now checked off all of the items we were tracking before starting our Testnet rollout. Next week I’ll be back with a new set of items that we’re focused on as we move towards the public Testnet period and beyond!’ This is just an example, but the underlined words gives me the feeling that there is always something that you didn’t communicate about or didn’t foresee and why a certain step hasn’t been completed yet. I didn’t ask for a date. I just hope that there won’t appear a whole new set of things to do in the next update, which takes weeks/months to do. I don’t write this to irritate, it’s just my observation. Don’t let it distract you to much in the march to launch. Idex will rock.
You are not alone bro. I got similar feeling when I read last 4-5 weeks of updates.
Thank you guys for the comments, you are really not alone, I totally understand your feelings, we are also very eager to have the new exchange live as well.
