(next to project update). Is the “Moonen strategy” still being applied? Or has strategy changed now that he is out? And if his strategy is still the basis, where does the project stand in view of making it a reality? I believe strategy was, among others, to have like 200 employees and go international. In reality, it is still very much France only right (apart from a couple of remote workers)? And team has been capped at about 60 for quite some time and isn’t really growing. Right?
And will a new COO be hired or has that role completely vanished withing the organisation?
Anyhow, would very much appreciate an update on this. We invested our money in this project, so feels only normal to inform us on these things. I’d prefer team spends time on this rather than random community NFT badges.
Team is currently around 80+ employees
Interesting. Only 62 mentioned on iExec website (number already including an intern and certain local community managers who I think are no longer active)
This number is includes interns , external collaborators and freelancers. Jdr
Thanks for checking man! So seems the 60 employees I mentioned was correct. Anyhow, my question was not about the exact number. It was about the need for a strategy update especially since Moonen is out.
So the preliminary answer is that J Moonen put together some really clear principles and objectives together. He helped with KPIs and other measurables to get us better organized. We looked at the market and where it’s going, and our course is build, own, and monetize. So that’s in line with some of JM’s objectives, but deviates from the overall plan you saw in an older Town Hall (the 100+ slide deck). Just so I’m clear Jdr - do you want more specifics that than? And any preferred format?
Thanks for this preliminary answer. I’d indeed really appreciate more specifics. Don’t really care about the format (I prefer a format that takes the least time to get approved). Last time, you detailed the strategy in a 2 piece medium interview with Moonen. With quite some details. So I am very interested in what part of that is still applicable. And what part is not. And what is new to the current strategy since the interviews. I believe the Moonen strategy was initially a 3-year strategy (I’m not sure about exact number), so I am also very interested in which goals of this strategy have been achieved in the meantime, and which are still open. The more details you are able to share, the better. Since it will help us understand where the project is, and where it is going. I personally felt that by sharing the detailed Moonen strategy last time, the community (and others) felt way more aligned with where the project is going, and why certain decisions are taken. I personally miss that feeling. Not knowing any specifics of the current strategy and not getting any project update in 6 months (and hardly any community updates) really has an impact. Many people seem to have left the community, or at least have gone more or less silent. It is hard to have good conversations in here if people are not updated on strategy and project status. What is there to talk about, apart from price or random stuff? I notice that when the team launches or announces something, there is hardly any response (let alone enthusiasm) since people have not been made part of the bigger picture causing for it to be hard to really understand/appreciate a single announcement/launch. I guess you guys are aware of this and the impact it has. Since you are of course aware of the fact that the team hasn’t given a project update for 6 months (and no strategy update). And perhaps the team is ok with the impact it has on the community chats and lack of enthusiasm in general. I don’t mean to fud. I’m sure the team is building awesome stuff and may very well have a genius strategy in place. I am only sharing my thoughts on what I feel and see as a community member re lack of communication, updates and alignment. And the impact thereof. Tbh I mentioned most of this in earlier posts many months ago. And updates have gotten even less since. So I guess I am just repeating myself without any chance of this changing. Shame on me.
