I can tell that there is really no point in getting an holoport right now. Once Holo is ready and everything really starts to work, you will be able to host on a simillary spec. device for 1/5 of the price. I bought an Holoport one year ago for half of that price and it was not the best deal at the time.

You think it was better to buy hot for that money?

After all you will be able to get your investment back. And if you want to make money, then you could speculate and trade on exchanges. But you should have known what you got, if you have ordered a holoport. (I'm not shouting out from the sideline; I'm also a holoport owner. Without getting anything at the moment, but it's okay. Maybe "it would be more profitable" if I had bought crypto currency (for example HOT) for that money. But I don't regret anything. I want to help building up. And I believe that Holo will be successful 🙃

I'm pretty sure, that investing in crypto currency would have been more profitable. I'm not sure, but I think that my Holoport would have cost (converted) at the time about 0.1 BTC. Now you would get a couple of Holoports for that money. (Okay, I would lie if I would say that I don't care about the money. I'm absolutely broke at the moment.) but it's okay. I believe in Holo, and everything was my decision. So no reason to blame anyone for not yet getting rich:D

Not sure. There are just few holoports in alpha right now. But all (!) holoport owners should be able to get their investment back due earnings. You are right; you will get the software for your own devices. Somewhere. Not right now. So everything will be right: the HP owners will get their reward. And it will also be cheaper to wait for the software for your own devices. But that's no contradiction: everyone who owns a holoport is a believer and probably willing to help. For the project and the 'ideology' of 'a new internet', and not for the maximum of profit.

there is no scenario I can imagine where buying HOT for 1k instead of a holoport+ at that time will be equal in terms of earning. Even now, you‘d get 500k+ HOT for 1k. Given the swap is guaranteed 1:1 you‘ll have significsntly more than running a holoport. So if you want to support (I run one port myself) - run it and go for it, very cool to be part of the process, but stop kidding yourself that it‘s a better investment than straight up buying HOT and then swapping.

There is no unofficial or official information when hosting software will be available. It can take a long time before there is one.

I think i missed something. So if i want to just host my application on my machine without publishing it to web 2.0 just in holochwin network can i do it without holoport software? What i need to publish it only between other holochain users, which software, just holochain itself?

I don't understand why you don't go and see the things that are offered to you. First of all, in this case, the official Holochain website. There we also talk about tools for making a hApp. Also there are many links that answer your questions. I'll put them again, please go and see all the things and you will find many answers by yourself 😃🙏👍

i know those pages. Maybe i will ask different way. Do you have kind of "copy/paste" tutorial how to create holochain "node" and connect it to holochain network and then deploy on it some example app like it is eg described here https://kubernetes.io/docs/setup/production-environment/tools/kubeadm/create-cluster-kubeadm/ for kubernetes? The most important part of that i want to know "how to deploy" is missing on holochain developer page here: https://developer.holochain.org/build/
