- Holo Limited and Holochain Foundation are reorganizing. There will now be 3 organizations formed to fulfill the original commitments for a distributed ecosystem where people own their data and communications and platforms can’t be captured by one entity. - 2 major things have been happening in the background that has made this reorg necessary. - Holochain app developers have expressed the need for Holo hosting services so they can begin to test their projects and make them available, - Other organizations in need of high volume micropayments are looking to HoloFuel. But HoloFuel was designed specifically for hosting Holochain apps. - In order to accommodate these new business developments and continue to fulfill on their original promises internal business restructuring is required. These changes are all to ensure the fastest go-to-market for expanding needs being expressed. - Holochain will continue to develop the foundational technology for distributed computing. - Holo will focus on getting distributed hosting available to the projects that have been asking for it for a while now. This will be made possible and accelerated by starting to provide Holo hosting services while accepting payment in HOT. - HoloFuel will become it's own organization that will expand and integrate additional functionality into HoloFuel for businesses that want to offer micropayments with no transaction fees. - Launch Brief changes to Delivery Brief because the discourse is now around an assortment of deliverables instead of the launch of a tightly integrated HoloFuel Holo Hosting network. - There will be monthly Delivery Briefs from the different organizations as there is more to communicate. These briefs will be able to answer additional questions. - Many details still to be worked out. - Exactly how payment for Holo Hosting will be managed through HOT has not been decided. The Holo team will be meeting with HoloPort owners to discuss aspects of the changes and collect information about how hosts would like to see the ecosystem operate. - As of right now: The swap will be delayed until HoloFuel is ready to be integrated back into Holo. The 1 to 1 ratio and 6 month window are still planed. No date is promised. - HoloFuel will eventually be backed by more real world assets than just cloud services. No names were mentioned in this brief.
