But if they can not see the receiving address on

etherscan how can they find it on the Terra ledger?

The chains (or smart contracts on the chains) obviously communicates, if not the tokens wouldn’t have any way to cross the bridge, and that communication all happens on chain where everyone can see it. On the Terra chain anyone can see your proof of burning the wrapped tokens, meaning they can track it back to your ETH address.

Right, I know it can be tracked once on Terra chain but where can the addresses be found from the ETH side if the address is listed in the TX is a "black hole"? Apologies if I am being redundunt...

I haven’t looked too much into the code on a detailed level, but I believe you specify that in the second parameter of the burn function on the Ethereum side.

This is actually a good question about privacy though. Does anyone know a decentralized way to bridge UST from Ethereum to Terra without linking the Ethereum address to the Terra address? Meaning that someone knowing my Ethereum address that used to hold wrapped UST would not also be able to know my Terra address? Seems like there aren’t any good solutions for that currently.
