You can own them. It's like you buy original art and then you are the owner of that piece... Anyone can make a photo, print it and have it. But they can't say they are the owner of that art piece. Same with NFT's

In this thread there are several EOS NFTs projects. From art collection to governance and charity.
One is the aspirations that surrounded NFTs early on was the example of buying items for a video game character, knowing it was unique or limited, and genuine - then also being able to carry that NFT item/character into other, future games and not lose the time and expense on that character. One would also be able to resell/trade the NFT/item and someone else could then own it and continue the cycle of doing whatever they want with something they own, which is transferable from game to game (like battlefield 2 through battlefield 3, 4, 5, etc). Some of that relates to why people buy nfts that have nothing to do with games, as well. Fire new, it's about not losing the investment of your time or money to since degree, in my opinion.
