Wow.. really excited for this
Hyped for this
Was just looking at your twitter post and thinking about this. When it comes to most other projects that we can team up with in the crypto sphere the use cases would have to drive the reason for doing anything. Currently as i see it the main services that have been developed in crypto that have traction are Trading / DeFi / Lending / NFT's When it comes to Polkadot, i have a sense of what it will achieve but i cannot imagine what it will look like in 3 years time. but as i understand it it is going to be solving the trilemma + it will allow for cross chain transactions + all parachains will be able to use any bridge so there is a huge amount of sharing across chainslots which will be very welcomed. For this i can see a great benefit to have a bridge to this system + have liquidity in the eco system so that trading / buying for ewt can take place there and also allow for the same to flow back onto the EWC.
Not sure how a bridge would work, anyone?
For DOT, a bridge would work much the same as it does for ETH Mainnet/BSC however getting the tokens in is one thing having it useable also requires Liquidity. I believe that DOT will have Glimmer go for a slot when it's auctions start, it will run any ETH smart contract as it is inplace. So it will be what the DEX's run on. these DEX's will need liquidity + tokens and i believe that these elements are already very considered by the project so there will be bridges + liq on launch then campaigns to get more over time. If Kasuma is anything to go by , i expect to see the big swaps port their contracts to these services. SInce DOT's parachains have not even started it is all quite conceptual. once it is underway and can run smart contracts + there are dex's then it would be useful. I dont see a quick turn around on this one. DOT is close to starting its auctions but realistically this would be more like 2022.
Why a bridge? Why not a parachain for EWF? My technical knowledge is limited, I don't know the advantages or drawbacks of a bridge compared to a parachain.
My understanding is that EW was considered in the usecase for this setup, EW would not go for a parachain, they would be better suited for a relay chain if they are to remain country agnostic. Eeach country /region/hardborder that had its own rules / regulations and behaviours would have their own parachain on the EWF Relay chain. That way they are all separate but they are still internconnected for cooperation and interoperability
That was also my first reaction… but I think there are different understandings on bridges. First step could potentially bridge tokens from EW to Polkadot network… like Native DOT to wrapped DOT on energyweb. I don’t know if that is possible, but I assume it is since DOT has already an Ethereum / BSC version. The BSC version is available on EW already but no liquidity… https://explorer.energyweb.org/address/0x5d36F106F9CB3da9C59F550B1Ac03f7D57Ea072d/transactions
So what exactly does this Moonriver does?
Basically moonriver makes it easy to integrate dApps from Ethereum to Kusama.
