With pleasure. Testnet will be reset sometime today, but you can get started and run as an observer first. Once you have that running we will send you the funds to stake your testnet validator.

Let's assume we'll need in the future 250k TPS. We would need 50 shards and so 40k nodes. Assuming we'll only reach 26ml as max supply and we stake 65% of the supply it means 18.2ml staked, and 455 egld per node. But we should consider the amount needed for top-ups or the network would stay unstable. So +30% as top-ups means each node could have 320 Egld :). Talking about future decisions, it would be a lot of money by then

Have been running various kind of nodes ( Tezos, Phala, Mina … ) recently so it’s nothing to me :)) I just feel like Elrond have more potential if they open more opportunities to people.

hey Jack, story time! The Elrond mainnet debuted 15 months ago, with 2169 nodes. What a number, huh? Only 1500 were planned initially (inside story), but the community demand to stake EGLD or run a node was overwhelming, so we listened and increased to 2169. Running a node back then was still 2500 EGLD. Different EGLD/USD parity though. The demand to stake and run validators continued to increase, so the number of validators was expanded to 3,200, and the amount of stake was uncapped. At 3,200 validators in the network, we're the largest live PoS network by number of nodes. Ethereum 2.0 has more, if you count their Phase 0 Beacon chain network (not the same thing). There's also a queue of 75 nodes looking to "get in". Everyone can get in - Even if you don't have the 2,500 EGLD required to run a standalone validator, you can securely delegate 1 EGLD min, no max. You want to run your own node? Set up a multisig wallet with friends, partner, etc and pool funds till you make it.

In a world filled with so many lonely people, it's incredibly selfish to be alone by yourself. Join Elrond instead.
