couldn't imagine Vitalik stepping away from Ethereum.
😂😂
Someone already forwarded my prior comment regarding “advising” but to expand on that a touch: it means more time to focus on other passions. We have accomplished what we set out to accomplish, and now for the next stage, it makes sense to pass the torch to our best developers—and to mentor them closely—to take RenVM to the next step. Advising, yes. But also exploring new opportunities in this space, and others. It is nigh impossible to do that when full-time heads down building one of the most complex decentralised network in production. The hardest yards are behind us now, and now the best ones are still ahead. If I had all the time in the world, I’d do it all.
i think vitalik himself is distancing himself from a figurehead role in eth. the eth foundation is still in process of decentralising and its an experiment in progress. as is everything else
Hey don’t worry Loong, you’ve slayed well! You don’t need to have a full time job of providing emotional support to Ren community. Best to let weak minds get out and let everyone else figure out how to drive volume across this bridge! Just tap SBF to pump up recognition!
also Vitalik still does contribute but in his own way to eth. you and see it in his recent talks . he still has considerable clout and tries to steer general direction of eth( i.e he feels we shld emphasis less on defi and to explore other untapped markets to expand the eth ecosystem)
what's wrong with you🙈🤦♂️
Just saying what Loong feels like they can’t say yet. He’s been on this project several years and got an exit. That’s awesome. On to the next
those are quite a suggestion that you could leave Ren would be a big gesture for everyone😜
Thank you for everything Loong and Tai! Ren definitely wouldn’t be Ren without your unique, calm and full of wisdom leadership. Excited to know more about Susruth, Jaz, and read exciting new features from them. More bullish than ever for the future of Ren and I hope we’ll regularly hear from you as well. What are these other passions if I may ask?
Noticed a bit of $ROOK activity on CT. Is that one of the passion projects? Solve interop and now onto MEV? 👑
Yeah good to see some interest in ROOK again
I really appreciate the full reply to the question, as if I expected anything less. Thank you and I'm sure many like myself will keep our ears on the ground for whenever you decide to embark on another project. You have a fantastic team and community, but personally it was you alone that gave me faith in the project. Your openness and humility is rare. Rarer still is your ability to understand and solve the most complex of problems. Thank you and all the best as the Advisor to REN and your future plans.
I am relaxed, I like that the founders are getting out of the way and letting us govern this, now that they’ve laid down the groundwork for governance. I don’t want their opinions or vision swaying any vote or being a part of any proposal, I’m glad they agree with that idea too.
It was their opinions and visions that put us here. Yes it's important to go decentralised, but I think their opinions and visions would be worth a hell of a lot to all invested.
Tai and Loong will certainly help steer Ren Labs, no worries about that
To be honest with you Farmer John, I can see why. I get a sense of senseless entitlement from your comments. I don't intend to get into a debate and bring down the tone for one of my most loved crypto communities. So let's just relax
My sentiments 👍😂
@Rufio3 Dont even bother with the “relax” comments after so many times stating it. Most of the noise you hear are from people with low conviction overall on the ecosystem. The market will take care of them, it always does. There are many of us DNOs operating many nodes, that will always be here to help contribute to productive conversations. I agree with your overall energy, Rufio. Let’s keep the convo enriching, and when people show you their true colors, we better believe them and plan accordingly. Our DNs will vote, that’s where we’ll see the product of these rich conversations. Onwards!
i don’t really understand what decentralisation and governance have to do with the lead dev stepping down. we are for sure not able to run this business. we have not even an idea who is working for what salary on which topics. sure, governance and decentralisation needs to be stepped up. but until we can make informed decisions, operations and development needs to continue. and for the latter it is not ideal when the lead dev resigns. maybe it is net positive in the future but in the short term it is a loss/risk.
This probably should be stickied somewhere. Loong and Tai’’s message in their twitter threads can’t be clearer enough. What we focus on, expands. If we seek uncertainty, we’ll feel it. Time is on our side, the devs staying are OGs, and mentored by Loong directly. Tai/Loong will help grow the ecosystem. The roadmap can’t be clearer. Building solid projects take time. People here are having a challenging time mostly because of their sense of urgency. That is a detrimental approach to have when it comes to investing in solid returns. For quick flips, this is not the project.
