Eosio software had an issue about a year ago where the network was being spammed which caused to pretty much be halted, b1 did came through and fixed it within hours, we need a team for critical fixes
That team probably isn't cheap
When you have 4B it’s pretty cheap relatively speaking
$2-$3M to have 7-12 senior level C/C++ and CyberSecurity engineers. That’s just for core. Add another $2-$3M for testnet, tooling and supporting dev libraries. That’s a bare minimum to even be competitive with what is already out there.
Add $1-$2M for regular audits on top of all that.
So $6-8M in flux year over year depending on what is in the roadmap. The network could eat up a $60-$80M budget over the next decade, and somehow people are still wondering why ENF, whales and others who are more technical care so much about those tokens?! 🙈🤣 Those tokens are the only guarantee the network has a means to secure the repo and ongoing development. Who else is going to prioritize and fund all that? $60-$80M? Please stand up and fork up all that money for ongoing software maintenance if you feel those tokens aren’t important. Otherwise, sit down and let the system protect itself from bad actors.
