would like at least 2/3 (or something like that) of the circulating supply to be staked for security reasons. We are still nowhere near those numbers. Is this a non-issue?
Pulled my stake. 5% is too low to negate the slashing risk for me.
What is the penalty for slashing?
it's 0.01% for downtime and 5% for double-signing
then just… dont double sign?
Not sure what that is.
Double signing occurs when a validating entity (private key) submits two signed messages for the same block
Yo my friend, we have some of the most well known validators across web3.0 who I'm sure would not want to tarnish their rep by double signing, so as long as you dyor and delegate to a trustworthy validator (no short on options with Injective as mentioned before) you'll be good.
is it possible to start a node ourselves now?
We have a full money back guarantee against slashing 🚀
didnt known that might delegate to your validator next time
I understand the risks of slashing and don’t find 5% apy worth the risk for me. That may change in the future.
But you just asked what double signing was, so do you really understand the risk?
re-delegation is always possible without a 21day wait period :)
I’ve seen it, so yes.
To rephrase this... Is the fact that only ~25% of circ. supply is being staked a scenario the team is comfortable with? With 33% of that being theirs.
If it's true (haven't checked myself) then the true return for staking is closer to 20% APR
