i guess my question is....isnt it easier to move CKB to metamask first? Then I can connect to yokai and stake directly from metamask?

I don't think so, check tutorials choose L1 address in the middle and send ckb from neuron. This will activate your account. Then move to layer 2 within yokai. Job done in 2 minutes

Metamask is to operate yokai so to log in to yokai you're doing it with Metamask. This will give you access to the deposit address

As far aa i understand, If you don't use metamask to connect to yokaiswap it won't be able to operate to generate a personal address. While there is ckb.pw portal wallet that in itself doesn't connect to the layer 2. Yokaiswap won't use that particular address.
