Can someone explain what websockets mean to the EVM? I

am reading up and trying to see the benefits and I am seeing a difference between http and websocket connection?
Is this what Telos is doing?
I saw in the roadmap AMA that this is important piece for Telos EVM 2.0
Can someone break down easily why web sockets will make a difference?

Gotcha, like Kucoin keeps updating price on my screen as it's happening. that is websockets, right? And if it was http, I would have to request price each time to see it change?
