I said to someone, "That staked tokens are held in a smart contract on the blockchain."
He replied, "There’s a smart contract on the consensus layer ? Coins are not locked on chain but on smart contracts?"
I don't know how to answer his questions. Will you please school me a little, so I can give an intelligent response?
And before trolls say, "You're a validator and can't answer that question? I'd never stake with you." Please know that I'm marketing not tech and I asked my partner before posting here, and he hasn't responded.
So I thought, "Why not be vulnerable and ask on Telegram, so everyone can learn something?" Crypto is a steep learning curve for everyone .
wow Matt, you're a validator and can't answer that? jk. what's up Matt! I'm not ashamed to ask when I dont know something either. I don't think anyone here has a negative mentality towards people asking questions either. I'm eagerly waiting to find out the answer to that question too.
This is brave and great 👍
Awesome. Thanks.
Not every validator can do that keep the positive vibes😊👍
@Matt_Blocks_United - To the best of my knowledge, staking is managed with smart contracts. I.e an agreement to hold my assets under mutually agreed terms that automate the reward and risks. I am following this to see what others have to say. Thanks for raising this, and yes, I will actually be delegating to your validator.
Hi Matt, here is the whole details. There is Staking module. You don’t lock your Atom with smart contract. https://docs.cosmos.network/v0.44/modules/staking/
So I understand that staked tokens aren't held in a smart contract. Their voting power is moved on the protocol level from the delegators to the validator, and delegators always maintain control of their tokens. It's just accounting on the protocol.
Yes,as I share it with you before, there is staking module and delegators lock their Atom with validators to secure network at protocol level. No smart contracts.
The staking module.... is that a place on the blockchain or just accounting?
That doesn't answer my question.
I m checking withpaper also. You should have a look at it too.
Thanks for helping
