Yes, blocks are continually being created, therefore the required disk space increases. Theoretically it can be compressed and used on another computer so as not to have to synchronize from scratch, but I don't know the specific procedure for it.

Thanks JP! Yes, I know that post but I don't know how this compression is achieved, since the user wants to create a backup himself. And it is really not recommended to do it for security reasons, only for emergencies.
Ahh. I don’t think you can stage your blockchain off to another machine as it’s part of the appdata folder. Unless there’s been an update that allows it
