Hey guys... I was wondering: how is RSR gaining utility

after mainnet if RSV won't be RSR backed? In order to stake RSR I must necessarily select an RToken from the dAPP dashboard, right? Does this mean there will be RTokens aviable from day 1 where to stake our RSR?

Hi Adam, you're right in that, at the moment, RSV does not require insurance in its current form (although as the message above says, that may change). But mainnet will bring a collaterised stable coin for app users, which is yield-bearing and will act as a "Savings" account for them - offering interest at a time when it's not frequently available outside of crypto. You might suggest that users, having a choice between a no-interest "checking" account and an interest "savings" account, will choose the latter, which in turn can be staked on and accrue yield for RSR holders. This is also likely to appeal to crypto exchanges and speculators as an alternative (and yield bearing) stable coin to the predominant algorithmic / non-collaterised stable coins on the market.

Cool! Basically, on mainnet day there will be a new RToken which generates interests BUT we will also be able to stake RSR on it?

This is actually a very smarty way to incentivate 600k RSV users to move to the new RSX token

Mainnet is the point that RTokens can be created and deployed onto the ecosystem. The team has ideas how this will go, but I may defer to good man @RSVSinatra whose more deeply in the woods about this 🙂
