hurt Frax?
I never "endorse" any peg other than FRAX. Please do not mistake kindness for "endorsement." Now with that said, I do believe in Do. Not sure when UST will repeg obviously. If you interpret that as "endorsing a peg" I don't think I can help you. Encourgement, collaborativeness, and positivity doesn't mean it's investment advice. 🙂
Can you shed some light on how Luna is pegging if it’s not on chain?
Sorry that’s a strong word indeed. I should have made it clearer by saying you have said several times in public “ust cant easily depeg due to strong institutional interest and terra’s itself being a layer one” or something similar. Now the depeg has happened although I also blv it will restore finally because of the institutional interest. “Wen” is the problem.
I admit I did not expect for it to slide down so quickly. But like I also said above, I'm still bullish for 4Pool which means I'm very optimistic about them getting the peg back. 🙂
Big money wars
Ive been a strong supporter of both Luna and Frax, Due to a 21 day stake commit on Luna I am still beholden. That said I'm not so optimistic - I think the Peg may come back (although not fully back to $1 for a long while as it will continue to trade at a risk adjusted discount to other stables) due to the mathematical dynamics of Luna/UST provided Luna stays positive. But unfortunately Luna has taken a huge hit in trust and I'm not even sure if people will trust a full algo stable coin again. I think a peg loss of 5 to 10% would have been manageable. But up to 40% drawdown with the huge volumes involved is pretty catastrophic for a stablecoin! Very sad as it was a very exciting experiment.
the mechanism itself is not the problem, the problem of UST is its incentive model. 14B (which is the majority of overall supply) stays in anchor as single asset staked for 19% APY(which is higher than liquidity farming APY), and the APY is maintained more centrailized way. This is simply not healthy imo. The healthier model in my opinion should be liquidity farming has higher yield than lending, and liquidity supply is higher than lending supply.
Fully agree. I think Anchor will continue to bleed down as people exit until some level (maybe 1-3bln?) at which the 19% APY becomes attractive again,

Thank u
I agree with you. Let's see what the rest of the community says. But yes, I think that is an important lesson from yesterday's events.
