He didn't sell drugs, but had a marketing company that made a fortune doing marketing for online pharma resellers in the old times when this business was worth billions. As for "spam king", I don't think receiving a couple hundred dollars of a fine for unsolicited email in the times when this was the norm qualifies for that tittle. "King" is a bit too flattering for a fine that is in the range of a speeding ticket, else we would have millions of "road kings" everywhere.
