There is no reward running for any kind of node, including relay node. Anyone can run a relay node in Algorand and Algorand maintains its own Relay nodes with selected companies to make sure the network always stays online.

Who are this companies running the relay nodes and getting rewards? I understand in the beginning to bootstrap the network, but it continue to be the same, a group of people get pay for running relay nodes and those who came later, no rewards, look like Algorand doesn’t care about grow up the network

In Q4 of 2021, we launch a pilot relay node program and another community relay node program on Q2 of 2022 to onboard relay node runners to the network. Algorand node reward program has ended. There might be more reward programs in the future. You can participate in our governance for incentive instead
